Profile

Dr Sara Sharifzadeh completed her PhD study in Computer Science at Technical University of Denmark, in 2015, with an external research period at Waterloo University, Canada. Upon Completion of her PhD, she started her new career as Research Associate in Data Science at Loughborough University. In 2018, she joined Coventry University as a Lecturer. She has joined Swansea University as senior lecturer in 2021.

During her study and research career, Dr Sharifzadeh was involved in several industrial research projects funded by EPSRC and Danish Council for Strategic Research and industrial partners. Her main areas of research include machine learning, artificial intelligence, multivariate data analysis with application in spectral signal/image analysis, digital health e.g. human activity recognition, satellite image analysis and analysis of 3D point cloud data acquired from robot-mounted laser scanner sensors. She has supervised several PhD and Msc projects on these research topics. She is a reviewer of several high impact international journals and member of IEEE.
